Manchester United Poised to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are on the verge of sealing the deal for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Signing for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has six months remaining on her contract, is known as a consistent goalscorer for both club and country. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. This signing will be seen as a marquee coup for the WSL team.
Her exit from Bayern was expected since she was seen fighting back tears while thanking the club's fans following a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its top forwards. Per multiple sources, all the paperwork for the transfer are now finalised.
Reliable Goal Threat to Strengthen the Forward Line
The 28-year-old’s signing is expected to provide a major boost to United’s forward line. Schüller has been highly reliable in front of goal in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the last term, she reached at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing the German international comes at a time when the club appear to be building positive momentum.

- The new deal for Japanese playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, who has become popular figure since joining in 2023.
On the midfielder's extension, a club official stated: “She has become a vital part to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and technical ability allows her and the team to dominate play from the middle of the park.”
