The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with employing the entire amount of immobilized Russian assets to aid the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this unified step would escalate tension on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to engage in negotiations.

They added that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.

British restrictions have blocked over £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government launched its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, up to this point, funds provided to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had exclusively been taken from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were united in their aim to push forward toward using the total worth of the seized Moscow's national assets to halt hostilities.

He stated that more restrictions in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on Russia.

This announcement is subsequent to EU leaders convened in Copenhagen previously to debate using frozen Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or employ immobilized Russia's assets, according to news outlets.

The total of frozen Russia's funds in the EU is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

Moscow executed extensive missile and drone strikes across the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in blackouts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

Several persons were killed and at least 20 people were injured in the assault, Ukrainian officials stated.

In a update on X after the strike, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike aimed at public and utility structures.

In the same period, Zelensky informed the press he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the PURL scheme, under which partner nations acquire military equipment from the US to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the UK's firm backing for Ukraine, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the initiative, as well as apply additional measures on Russia.
